Emergency construction hours have been extended once again聽until 31聽March 2022.听

The NSW Government has re-made a temporary聽COVID-19 Construction Works Order to allow construction work on weekends for quieter聽building works until the 31 March.听

The updated COVID-19 Construction Works Order will facilitate construction over a broader聽timeframe in recognition of COVID-19 safety requirements to create safe work聽environments and minimise project delays, whilst also giving neighbours some respite聽from noise.

The extension of time allows construction without the need for approval on:聽

  • Saturday: 8am to 5pm with restrictions on any noisy works that have not聽been approved under a development consent. These restrictions are in聽place to reduce noise impacts on nearby residents.
  • Sunday: 9am to 5pm for quieter works. This means no noisy demolition聽work, or exceeding a certain noise and vibration threshold, include the use聽of power tools or playing music from radios or other electronic devices by聽workers or other persons on site.听
  • No construction work is allowed on public holidays and only quieter works聽on weekends.

Details of the extension can be seen and a full copy of the Order can be accessed聽.听
